This is a one of a kind piece of wearable art made for the Five and Diamond Seventh Annual Headgear Art Show and shown on August 2, 2019.
The 'venado' cocktail hat is a one-of-a-kind headpiece which will effortlessly carry you through your adventures in time and space. The arapaima fish leather has been hand-moulded with steam and water on a wooden hat form, and then hand-stitched.

MATERIALS USED
Arapaima vegetable tanned fish leather from Brazil (it's also called pirarucu) base, featuring goose biot feathers, elytra beetle wings, a vintage sprig of glass berries, cotton/rayon grosgrain ribbon, millinery elastic, millinery wire, buckram, and vintage silk ribbon.
WEARING INSTRUCTIONS
Hold the hat from the middle, avoiding the delicate glass berries. You may wear this hat straight on your head or on either side of your head. The millinery wire can be shaped gently to fit the curve of your head. The black tubular elastic is worn under your hair, at the nape of your neck. It can be adjusted under the ribbon if you would like it to be more snug on the head.
